Mile count: 28.15 On vacation I was able to swim in the open water with my snorkel mask on, pulling my new swim buoy. I used the lighthouse as my guide, until I began passing it and realized I needed to use the lakehouses to keep from swimming too wonky. I also realized my son was running along the shore! Hubby shortly behind him. We met at the creek beyond the light and walked back together. I will remember my sandals next time–my feet got sore! I got to swim twice on Saturday at the beach as well. Strange side effect of open water swimming: When I close my eyes at night, I feel the waves moving me up and down in the wave pattern of the day! Living Vine’s Director, Hedwick, trekked to the Cameroon’s capitol last month to plead and bargain for more accreditation and it was received. This means Living Vine will be able to spread its reach further as it trains mental health workers in 3-year programs instead of just one. One of our main goals at Living Vine is to educate workers for the cause. Hedwick can’t do it all–he needs to replicate himself. He does this with a faculty from nearby institutions, as well as Living Vine staff. It is invigorating seeing this fledgling little clinic begin to realize its full potential! We are at $2,380!
