Since 2013 our non-profit has been committed to bringing Mental Health Services to the people of undeveloped and underdeveloped countries regardless of race, color, creed, nationality, ethnicity, sex, or lack of financial ability.
How we do this:
- Raise awareness of the lack of mental health services through newsletters, blogs, and other electronic and print media.
- Fundraise to provide educational and training opportunities to foreign nationals who will serve in their country’s mental health community.
- Organize, build and equip facilities for indigenous mental health centers.
- Recruit, train, educate and provide ongoing assistance as may be needed to fulfill our mission.
Currently we work in the English-speaking region of Cameroon, Africa (east of Nigeria): a beautiful land of over 16 million people with moderate healthcare, but no prior mental heath care facility. We raised funds to build a mental health clinic in the major city of Bamenda, completed in 2022 and it has reached over 1,000 patients and families to date.
We currently are fundraising for the expansion of the main clinic, which will over double the clinic’s square footage. This will provide space for: classrooms and offices of the new Institute, a cafeteria, housing for dementia and intellectually disabled individuals, visitor reception, and a secure outdoor space for inpatients.
